TIBHS pupils celebrate outstanding GCSE results
Pupils at TIBHS are celebrating today after achieving outstanding results.
In a year of tougher exams in English and Maths, our headline results are:
93% of pupils achieved a ‘standard pass’ in GCSE English and Maths – scoring a grade 9 to 4
76% of pupils achieved a ‘strong pass’ in GCSE English and Maths – scoring a grade 9 to 5.
Mubaaruck Ibrahim, TIBHS Principal, said, “Congratulations to this year’s Year 11 pupils on their fantastic achievements. This is only TIBHS’ second cohort of pupils to sit GCSE examinations. To achieve such grades in a year when tougher exams have been introduced is testament to their hard work, and the support of their parents and TIBHS staff.
“It’s been wonderful to watch these young men grow as they have progressed through TIBHS, not just academically but as responsible and active citizens in their local communities.
“It’s part of the Tahueedul vision to inspire our pupils to be the leaders of tomorrow. I’m certain that we will hear great things in the future about the pupils who have received their GCSE results today and I’m very proud of them all.”
Pupil Umair Patel is going on to study for A-Levels having achieved grade 9s in English Language and English Literature, grade 8 in Maths, plus 3 A*s and 5 As.
Umair said, “I was shocked when I read my results this morning! I’m really happy and my family are too.
“I’ve found studying for GCSEs quite challenging but our teachers have put a lot of effort into supporting us and that’s helped me to achieve my grades. -ends-
“Now I’m looking forward to studying Biology, Chemistry and Sport at A-Level at Cardinal Newman College in Preston.”
