Interim site confirmed for new Tauheedul boys’ school
July 16, 2011
With the September opening of Blackburn’s new Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School (TIBHS) only just over two months away, the sponsors this week announced location details for the first 12 months of operation.
The sponsors of TIBHS are delighted to confirm that the school’s first academic year will take place at the former St Stephen’s School, which is owned by the Diocese of Blackburn.
Speaking about this news, Jacquie Petriaho, the Principal Designate of TIBHS, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce our home for the first 12 months of the school, which is only five minutes away from our eventual Bicknell Street base. We are very grateful for the co-operation of the Diocese of Blackburn in making available this site, and the fact that it was only recently used as a school means that all of the infrastructure and facilities are in place. This will ensure that we hit the ground running and can start work from day one on giving our boys the very best education possible.”
A bus service has been arranged for the first 12 months to ensure that all pupils at the school are able to reach the interim site every day without problem.
