Welcome from the Principal

Assalamu Alaikum/Peace be upon you!

As Principal of Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School (TIBHS), I extend a very warm welcome to our website and hope it gives you a flavour of what life at a high performing faith school with a specialism in Leadership is like.

TIBHS is a Muslim faith-based school that promotes fundamental British values and welcomes applications from all faiths and none. At TIBHS, we believe that every young man – regardless of faith, race or background – is unique and special and has the capacity to succeed.

Our job as a school is to help each and every young man discover and unlock their unique talents. This unshakeable belief drives our uncompromising pursuit of educational excellence. We expect our parents/carers to play an active part in pursuit of this educational excellence by attending parents’ evening, curriculum guidance evenings, pastoral evenings and pupil review meetings, as well as ensuring that homework is completed on time and to the best standard.

We believe that every young man has an active role to play in the local community and in wider society. Our Khidmat programme (community service programme) is designed to get our young people actively engaged in charity work and volunteering.

At TIBHS, pupils not only work hard but they play hard, too. We expect all our young men to participate actively in a range of extra-curricular clubs and teams which fall within our leadership foundations of Star Performers, Star Futures, Star Creative, Star Citizen and Star Sport. After all, a healthy body fosters a healthy spirit and mind!

We expect our pupils to be creative, innovative, independent and resilient and we are committed to fostering their interest in social enterprise. Who knows – one day, one of our pupils may help to find some of the solutions to the challenges facing our planet today. As a school, we want to be at the cutting edge of the latest technologies and the most innovative in preparing our young men for the world of work. The school initially achieved Microsoft Showcase Status for the academic year 21-22, 22-23 and once again this year 23-24 – this is an accolade because it is one of 48 schools’ in the UK to have achieved this status.

All of this is only possible in a climate of mutual care, trust and discipline. We expect our young men to demonstrate the highest levels of discipline both within school and on their way to and from school. We expect parent/carers to play a full and active part in ensuring that their child follows our highest expectations on uniform, punctuality, attendance and behaviour. This will compliment an ethos and culture of exemplary standards, behaviours and values suited to our new, iconic, state of the art building which opened its doors for the first time in September 2019.

Our guiding principles and mission have remained the same – for TIBHS to be a place where our young men aged between 11 and 16, in key stages 3 and 4 can achieve educational excellence and benefit from outstanding opportunities for character development, leadership and service to communities. This has continued in our Sixth Form offer – TB6, which opened in September 2022. This is the first academic year where we have got 7 year groups in the school – from Year 7 through to Year 13. I have great confidence that our current young men will achieve the most promising of either Level 3/A Level to secure places at the best Russell Group/Ivy League Universities or the highest calibre of degree apprenticeships available.

Finally, our young people are our best ambassadors. If you are a prospective parent/carer with a child looking for a secondary school or a prospective employee, please feel free to contact the school to arrange a visit.
