Community Service
Islam teaches us that, as human beings, it is our duty to consider the welfare of all mankind. This is a basic duty that transcends race, colour, beliefs, gender or faith.
TIBHS plays an active role in enhancing social cohesion and promoting civic responsibility. Citizenship is part of our Leadership specialism, which emphasises the importance of civic responsibility, charity and social action. We have a well-developed community programme aimed at promoting community service and mutual understanding amongst pupils and parents. The Tauheedul Baccalaureate rewards pupils’ commitment to making the world a better place for all to live.
All learners at TIBHS complete community service projects. They undertake 500 hours of community service during their time at the school. They also establish and manage social enterprises and charities autonomously, as part of the school’s curriculum.
It is one of Tauheedul’s driving principles that, through our activities and those of our pupils and their families, the communities in which we are based, and those further afield, should become stronger and more cohesive.
Termly Leadership Days
Each term, in order to enhance pupils’ Moral and Civic Leadership skills, TIBHS hosts Leadership Days. It is part of the school’s enrichment curriculum, designed to promote global humanitarian issues, and involves pupils from Year 7 to Year 10.
